It has been said that El Conjunto Bernal, led by Paulino and Eloy Bernal, wrote the book on conjunto music and put it on the map. Born in Texas, the brothers dropped out of school early in their youth to pick cotton in order to help their family of six. In 1952, Paulino and Eloy became Los Hermanos Bernal. After performing three years, they changed their name to El Conjunto Bernal. It was during this time, the brothers introduced the chromatic accordion that helped bring conjunto music to a new level of sophistication. The two innovative brothers also originated the three-part harmony to conjunto music, which established them as pioneer leaders. Additionally, they brought respect to conjunto music by doing something that had never been done before; they were the first to wear classic suits on stage.

In 1960, Paulino Bernal became the host of his own television show and traveled to Vietnam, thrilling throngs of soldiers with conjunto music. In 1967, Paulino left the group to spread the word of the Lord, but returned in 1977 and helped El Conjunto Bernal change their repertoire to Christian music. In 1983, Conjunto Bernal was inducted into the Tejano Conjunto Music Hall of Fame, which earmarked them into the pages of history.

Conjunto Bernal transforms Christian music with creative accordion playing and vocal harmonies in "Hijo De Dios" and "Renuevame." The only way to describe these two productions is "Awesome!" You have to hear them to believe it.

Due to popular demand, Hacienda has digitally re-mastered these hit CDs and made them available for the first time on compact disc.

Due to an increasing demand from the public and radio, Hacienda Records continues the digital re-mastering of groups from the 80's that made musical history. Conjunto Madrigal is definitely one of these groups. Madrigal has been one of the most active amiable groups in the South Texas region since the mid 80's. Their soaring popularity makes them as much in demand today as yesterday. Led by bajo sexto player, June P. Garcia, this conjunto has recorded over a dozen albums with several Texas-based Tejano record labels. His music is best known for its rhythmic interplay between the bajo sexto and the accordion. Although Garcia writes most of the group's material himself, Conjunto Madrigal has a unique talent for blending 50's style rock & roll songs with a fresh regional Mexican twist. Hacienda Records takes great pride in the release of this Conjunto Madrigal classic, presented in a digitally re-mastered CD format for the first time.

Hacienda Records takes you on a stroll through the memorable Chicano Era with Country Roland and The Valley Boys, reviving those wonderful moments from the 1970’s. Country Roland tells us, “The idea of transposing country and western music to Spanish was something I had always toyed with. I like country music because it’s simple tear-jerking music and it comes from the heart.” He goes on to say, “To me, it’s the only music because it belongs to everyone.”

Country Roland was born in Falfurrias, Texas and raised in McAllen, Texas where he worked as a truck driver. After learning to play the guitar, he formed his first band, Country Roland and the Valley Boys, and became an overnight success as he toured Texas with the much-loved country sound that audiences rave about. This superstar has been an active part of Hispanic history for over 40 years, and was nominated as an inductee to the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame Museum.

“El Rey De Country” is definitely a collector’s special, containing such big hits as “Welcome to My World,” “La Barca De Oro,” “Mexicali Rose,” “Wedding Bells” and his huge hit “Cotton Eyed Joe," just to name a few. During his heyday, Country Roland wrote and performed the “Country Roland Schottis” which is also included in this CD release. Country Roland is still performing and his music is much in demand, a Rio Grande Valley living legend.
